The1860 claim is a little misleading as it is only an audio recording, but it is the first audio ever audio recording.

I quickly found myself immersed in this app and can see how it would be great to use in the classroom. The app includes music, news and movie clips, and TV commercials. Students could use the app to get a better idea what the world was like by choosing a specific year. The clips are from YouTube, so it would not be useful at a school where they block YouTube videos.
